Backsplash Designs

I can't believe how terrible I have been about Posting! I have been so busy that I just feel like I can never catch up. Well I am starting to see the light and will post more regularly.

I thought I would share some design sketches and ideas on a stove back splash I have been working on. As you will see it is a design process and does not necessarily happen 1st try.

This kitchen will be amazing when it is done. The mantel for the stove hood shown in the picture is made out of Antique Chestnut.
We have gone through alot of ideas for the design but I think we are coming full circle to where we began originally with the design.-Not Shown the inspiration picture.

The tile is cream and pale yellow with a cool stone looking molding-- Sorry terrible picThis is the 1st draft -Ick looks like something is missing.

Closer but --NoAlmostThis is it!!

It is amazing till I put it on paper I thought this was going to be too busy-- But I love it.

This back splash was a challenge. Most stoves are flanked with upper cabinets and you have a start and end point for the tile. I think that coming up with a interesting design is also a challenge because you don't want it too busy but you are also making a focal point.

I will post a finish picture soon as it is done unfortunately we have a bit of a wait to get the tile in.
